Family Dreams

We are keeping this little blog to let our friends and family know of our experiences as we journey towards building our family through adoption. We are hoping to adopt from China, and plan on posting any information we can to keep everyone up to date, as well as any pictures that are important. We welcome any questions or comments, and they can be left by clicking the "comments" link at the end of each post. No question is a dumb question!!! We hope you enjoy our journey as much as we plan to.

Orphanage Donations..

This is a picture of Aidan's orphanage, and we are currently begging for money! It is not for us, but for the orphanage that Aidan is currently in. They are in need of office equipment to make getting files and updates out to perspective families quicker. It would ensure that children are in the orphanage a lesser amount of time and get matched with their forever families much quicker. After recieving an update on Aidan this week, we realized how valuable this was. A family that had been at the orphanage in December donated a digital camera to them. What a wonderful gift for the children. This was the director and staff can take pictures of them as they grow to be given to their new families for the future. You can not imagine what a special thing this is for children to have: A link to their past and their former life. We feel very lucky and blessed to have the few pictures of Aidan that we do. So, Dan and I asked what else the orphanage needed and the answer was office equipment. So, we are trying to raise money for them. The donation items can not be bought here and brought over to China. This in to permitted. It has to be bought there. So, when we head to China this spring/summer (no, no details yet!) we will take this donation with us and go shopping with the SWI (orphanage) director for the items.

If anyone is interested in donating, please contact us and we will give you the necessary information.

Our hearts are so full, and we are grateful to be able to help the other children that do not have permanent homes. We wish we could take them all home!

Ms. Tang looked so happy to receive the donations we raised. My hope is that it will allow her to be as loving with other adoptive families as she has with you. Wish we could have given them a million dollars to look after all the little ones.
